Enjoying the ice skating rink at the Glasswells World of Furniture Ice Spectacular

Ice Spectacular Success

Ice skating, Santa, Christmas carols, mince pies, brass and silver bands, and all for charity; what more could you wish for in the hearth of your local Glasswells World of Furniture?

This is exactly what we had during our ice spectacular event during the first weekend of December. Santa chatted to the children from his sleigh, with his elf by his side, there was also a postbox for Santa letters. An ice skating rink was the centre piece, complete with snow that both children and adults enjoyed, plus entertainment from the Stowmarket Chorale, The Salvation Army and Lakenheath Silver Band. We charged a small fee for skating and sold mince pies, all raising money for local charities.

Paul Glasswell comments, “The entire weekend was a great success with hundreds of visitors and we are really pleased to have raised £1,000.00 for charity. This will be shared amongst the St Nicholas Hospice and The Salvation Army, both of which do a fantastic job all year round. We would like to thank everyone that came along and joined in with the festivities.”

Santa’s postbox will be in the Bury store until 18th December, allowing plenty of time for Santa to reply before his busy Christmas period.
